Course description:

•ART FASHION INSPIRATION: HENRY MOORE AND BURBERRY S/S 2017 COLLECTION.

•SINGER WHO INFLUENCED FASHION: BILLIE EILISH RELAXED INDIE POP FASHION.

•ONE OF THE INFLUENCERS OF 2021: ZENDAYA.

•MOVIE WHICH INFLUENCED FASHION: MAITRESSE ,1975 INSPIRED FENDI F/W 2020.

•SCULPTOR WHO INFLUENCED FASHION: JEFF KOONS.

Purpose

To discuss the following trends/concepts and jotting down the consequences of the same in the past which affects the present trends as well. The concepts provided by the mentor are:

CONCEPT 1: Art and fashion collaboration /collection.
CONCEPT 2: Singer turned influencer.
CONCEPT 3: Fashion icon of the present era.
CONCEPT 4: Iconic movie which influenced fashion.
CONCEPT 5: Sculptor/ Artist influencing fashion

First impressions

Examining the topics above I concluded the following for the each concept and they are:

CONCEPT 1: My choice for the first concept is the work of the well known asymmetric artist and form creator HENRY MOORE in collaboration with Burberry for their Spring /Summer Ready to wear 2017 collection themed under SCULPT THE BODY.
CONCEPT 2: Coming to the second concept , I have chosen BILLIE EILISH for her light, surreal yet dark themes and looks that she has incorporated in her music videos and award functions. She is often seen wearing track suits of Gucci or Louis Vuitton in numerous award functions thus paving way for REAXED INDIE POP fashion.
CONCEPT 3: One of the Influencer which youth can look up to as a key opinion leader is ZENDAYA and there she becomes my third concept of discussion. She has the amalgamation of fluid masculinity in her looks which inspired the free fall trousers for women and "not so formal" looks for the generation Z to get inspired.
CONCEPT 4: Furthermore, a movie which created controversy for her BDSM thus provocative way of living is no less than an iconic movie due to its bold fashion statements. I chose the movie named as Maîtresse which is released in 1975 , Karl Lagerfeld being the costume designer for the same. The movie's fashion was then modified and adapted by FENDI in its F/W 2020 collection.
CONCEPT 5: Lastly, a sculptor who basically created the real life day to day things on a large scale basis stole the spotlight with stainless steel, mirror-finish surfaces and has a taste in industrialism and mass culture. He is none other than JEFF KOONS who becomes my last concept of artist/sculptor influencing fashion.

How it went

The following are the essence of each of the concept that I inferred:

CONCEPT 1: Asymmetric, gathering and ruffling with neutral and earthy colour palette.
CONCEPT 2: Relaxed yet luxurious with neon colours and deep appearances.
CONCEPT 3: Retro look with flare and fluidity. Embracing genderless fashion.
CONCEPT 4: Bold look with voluminous aura and accessories like thick chain ,laces and clothing included leather corsets, lace skirts.
CONCEPT 5: Polished and large scale with pop fashion in heart.
